record get!!!
i swear this isn't spam...
hello friends… lovers… readers…
last time we spoke was january. and the last time i did a record round-up was april 2025 after record store day. i haven’t been writing about music much since 2025 as you all know. but i don’t wanna harp on my absence!!!!! life happens!!!!!!!!
here’s all the records* i’ve bought since last time i bought records. a few of them are more recent and some of them i should’ve written about in 2025. but oh well!!!
éxodo - peso pluma
like djo and mk.gee before him, my boy-obsession of the year is… peso pluma. i discovered him via djo twitter—all roads return to djotwt—when i saw an oomf tweeting about him. one day i was looking for something to listen to and the name peso pluma kept bouncing around in my head, so i was like hm, let’s try some of that. i listened to “ella baila sola” and was like well that’s fine. then i listened to “lady gaga” and i was like holy fuck. the conversion was quick after that. i love peso pluma. i love peso pluma. i love peso pluma.
best song? it changes on a given day, but for the past like two months my favorite has been “ice.” try listening to it without falling in love. you can’t. he is so soulful on this track. EL CUELLO ICE COMO LUCIFER—
iron - post animal
i remember i wasn’t planning on buying this but i thought the matte white pressing was very pretty so i hit the buy button. the design of this album’s packaging is sublime, probably my favorite out of this bunch.
best song? “dorien kregg.” iykyk.
the crux - djo
i’ve said enough about her. though i did just recently purchase the album a second time because i’d forgotten that i already had it. so. gotta return that.
best song? i mean, it’s been over a year now. i’ve listened a lot. my thoughts have shifted over time. but it’s gotta be “potion.”
the crux deluxe - djo
and her. but i will say… the two albums look very pretty together.
best song? today, “mr. mountebank.”
inbred - ethel cain
we went out for record store day with our friends. it was more low-key than last year when we went to three (3) separate stores. they have a record store right down the street so we parked at their apartment and walked down. we hadn’t necessarily planned on going out for record store day so i didn’t really have anything on my list, but i told myself if we went out i would look for inbred. it was pressed for the first time for RSD this year. i’ve only listened to it once back when i started my ethel cain journey. this store had all their RSD stock behind the counter and you had to ask for it, which i understand but don’t love. anyway i asked the friendly guy at check out if they had inbred and he looked for me. and they happened to have just two left!!! so i took one.
best song? “crush.”
debí tirar más fotos - bad bunny
i’ve written about dtmf a lot, too!!! i was really excited to get this one. we went to the netherlands in late march and i almost bought a copy there just because i was feeling whimsical but then i didn’t. i also got this one on record store day. it took a little bit of looking because the shop we went to is organized kinda stupidly but i found her!!! can’t wait to spin. i loved the halftime show by the way. if you care.
best song? today, “EoO.”
RAT WARS - health
i wrote a little bit about health in my 2025 faves post. they fell victim to my busyness so i never ended up writing about them properly. i love health, i’ve listened to two of their albums and they’re a vibe. to me.
best song? “DSM-V.”
*these definitely aren’t all the records i’ve bought since last time i bought records. i have a copy of two star & the dream police that i mentioned in my last edition of my record round-up that isn’t pictured here, and a copy of willoughby tucker, i’ll always love you that isn’t pictured here. i can’t remember what else i’ve accumulated between now and then, so just enjoy this sampling.
